The original item was published from February 26, 2019 9:50 AM to April 27, 2019 12:00 AM

Teens for the Arts Night has grown to be such an amazing program that highlights local teens and tweens who have gifts and talents they want to share with their community. Being an artist is not just limited to painting and sketching. Artists can now bring their art to life using technology! There is a broad range of what being an artist looks like. Teens for the Arts Night not only highlights those who draw and paint, but also musicians, singer, poets, dancers and MCs.

Teens for the Arts Night 2017

There are so many ways to showcase your gifts and talents of the arts aside from this night! Tools that can be used to share your artistic talents are social media such as YouTube, after school art or orchestra clubs, even starting a blog spot! Be on the lookout for local spoken word nights and talents shows. Those are also awesome ways to get connected to a community of other people who share the same gift and talent as you.

Teens for the Arts Night is an important program to the Suffolk Public Library because it brings exposure of the arts to our community. It also gives teens and tweens a safe creative space to be who they are and share it with their community. Our next Teens for the Arts Night focus is ‘Musicians of a New Era’ on March 14 and April 25 and we cannot wait to see our fellow musicians in action with their musical instruments!
