SPL Delivers

Do you have difficulty getting to the library due to an illness, injury, medical condition, or disability?  We may have a solution for you! 

SPL Delivers is a NO CONTACT home delivery service that provides materials to homebound City of Suffolk residents.  Home delivery is available to anyone who is homebound, whether temporarily or permanently regardless of age.  

Eligibility:

To qualify for homebound services, an individual must: 

  • Must live in the City of Suffolk and live within the designated delivery zone.
  • Have a valid Suffolk Public Library, library card must be in good standing.
  • Be unable to visit the library independently due to a temporary or long-term illness, injury, impairment, medical condition, or disability for at least 2 months. 

Starting Services:

Complete the SPL Delivers on-line application, email spldelivers@suffolkva.us, or call us at (757) 514-7715 for enrollment.  If you are eligible, someone will get in touch to start you in the program. 

Delivery of Materials:

Library materials will be delivered monthly as resources and staff availability allows 

Termination of Services:

  • An individual may terminate homebound service at any time 
  • SPL staff will review homebound service eligibility requirements on a periodic, case-by-case basis to confirm, modify, extend, or terminate homebound service.
