Battle of the Books

Battle of the Books (BoB) 2022-2023

Battle of the Books (BOB) promotes reading through introducing different genres and new literature in a game show style reading competition for fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students. Teams of no more than five students are formed and encouraged to read and answer questions based upon eight selected titles. We welcome teams formed by schools as well as individual students who would like to join a library organized team.

This year Suffolk Public Library (SPL) is partnering with Portsmouth Public Library (PPL). Both library systems are using the same book list and resources, as well as have a final battle together in late Spring 2023. Also new this year, we are also hosting a virtual author visit in February with both the authors of Place at the Table

Complete the BOB registration form if you would like to participate in the 2022-2023 Battle of the Books with either PPL or SPL. The last day to register is December 12, 2022.
